The owners of this beautiful one bedroom, ocean view unit, did an excellent job of choosing many of the components that went into this total renovation. There were too many improvements to name them all but the major ones include:
All new, custom built on Maui, bamboo cabinets. This included changes to the kitchen counter to one level and the vanities adjusted for better use of space. A gorgeous and spacious custom bedroom closet was also custom made in bamboo.
The kitchen was opened up completely by eliminating the large post at the end of the counter. All wiring was moved and the counter top lowered to one large level bar with a Quartz counter. All the new, stainless steel, G.E. appliances add a modern and quality touch. The decorative glass tile back splash is very impressive. Overhead track lighting and a fan highlight the entire kitchen which has a WOW factor.
The bathrooms are the same. Each has a spacious walk-in shower. The old master bath tub was removed to make room for the shower and the whole bath was opened up by eliminating the door and wall between the vanity and the toilet & shower area. The tile is brilliant and includes special glass tile accents on the walls and the corner benches. The Guest bath follows on those same lines. Both have top quality Hinkley vanity sconce lighting along with can lighting. The plumbing fixtures were also top of the line and all new sinks were under-mounted.
The two old window mount Air Conditioners were replaced with a new Split Air system. These are quiet, energy efficient and very affective.
All tiled floors, inside and on the lanai, were replaced with modern 12 x 24 inch natural colored porcelain tile, laid in a staggered pattern. These brighten up the rooms and extend to the entrance deck. The wall tile in the showers is also an extension of the floor tile for a smooth transition. The glass shower panels protect from excessive water spillage.
Attractive, modern and very efficient MinkaAir fans replaced all old fans and a small fan was installed in the master vanity area and a large one on the lanai.
The new carpet with special pad in the living room and bedroom add a special touch with the tropical bamboo print.
All walls and ceilings were patched and painted along with new white wood baseboards. The contrast between the antique white walls and the white ceilings, baseboards and doors is subtle and rich looking.
This is now a Wailea Ekolu showplace and wonderful home for the owners to retire in.
